Samo Kumar Appointed as CEO of Bankart d.o.o.

Ljubljana, March 26, 2025 – Bankart d.o.o., a leading provider of payment processing and financial infrastructure solutions in the region, is pleased to announce the appointment of Samo Kumar as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 26, 2025.

Samo Kumar brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong track record in the technology and financial sectors. Prior to joining Bankart, he served as the CEO of IBM Slovenia, where he successfully led the company through key transformations, focusing on innovation, digitalization, and the advancement of business-to-business solutions. Under his leadership, IBM Slovenia strengthened its market position and played a crucial role in driving technological advancements across various industries.

Kumar’s career spans strategic leadership roles in the technology sector, with a deep understanding of digital transformation, operational excellence, and corporate strategy. His expertise in leveraging technology to enhance business efficiency aligns with Bankart’s mission to drive the modernization of payment systems and financial services.

Recognised for his achievements, Kumar was awarded the prestigious Best Young Manager of the Year 2024 award, a testament to his leadership skills and impact in the industry. He is also elected in Amcham Slovenia Board of Governors.

His appointment marks a new chapter for Bankart as the company continues to expand its services and solidify its position as a key player in the financial technology ecosystem.

On this occasion, Bankart extends its sincere gratitude to Aleksander Kurtevski, who has successfully led the company for an impressive 27 years, significantly contributing to its development and leadership in the region. Kurtevski will remain with the company until the end of 2025 to ensure a smooth transition and the continued success of Bankart.
